Ohio Tornadoes Prompt DOI Bulletin

Insurers in certain areas asked to allow their insureds in certain areas to defer premium payments.
June 4, 2019

Ohio Insurance Director Jillian Froment has issued a bulletin to insurers requesting that companies allow their insureds in certain areas to defer premium payments coming due and “extend any and all provisions imposing time constraints within which insureds must take certain action.” On May 28, Gov. Mike DeWine declared a state of emergency for Greene, Mercer, and Montgomery counties along with any other counties that subsequently declare an emergency resulting from the severe weather event and tornadoes that began May 27, 2019 and lasted through May 28, 2019.
